Be a Mentor - Befriend A Child
So you're looking for an interesting volunteer assignment.

Terrific!

You'll find that mentoring can be one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences you will ever have. All it takes to become a mentor is a caring adult who is committed, responsible and a good listener.

Operation Starfish is a school-based Mentor Program that elicits involvement from schools, businesses, churches and individuals who are willing to make a difference by spending time with a child each week.

Our mission is to guide youth through one-on-one relationships with positive role models. Our goals are to foster resiliency in children through informal and creative means (games, music, art, and literature) and to develop positive self esteem.

Remember: Mentoring not only helps the child you mentor-it also provides you with a great experience.
