Free Fish Day
Silverton Together, in collaboration with the Izaak Walton League, the Silverton Kiwanis
Club, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Silverton Lions Club, the Silverton
Volunteer Fire Department, and the City of Silverton, hosts a Free Fish Day, where children, families and volunteers from the community come together each June at the Silverton Reservoir for a day of trout fishing and fun.
Fishing supplies and bait are provided. The Oregon Department of Fish and
Wildlife stocks the reservoir with fish. Snacks are on hand to feed hungry
anglers. Fun is had by all!
Because parking is extremely limited, a shuttle bus service is provided from
Roth's Family Market (First Street), Safeway Market (McClaine Street), the
Silverton Historical Museum (S. Water Street), and the Church of the Nazarene
(S. Water Street). Pick up times begin at 8:00 am and run every 20 minutes until
the last drop-off/pick-up at the Reservoir at 12:30 pm.
For safety reasons, boat owners and visitors
are advised that the Silverton Reservoir will be closed to all vehicle traffic
between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. that day.
